Rambunctious comedy set on the campus of an African-American college in the South. It's homecoming weekend and the usual tensions appear in relief. The social climbing fraternity and sorority kids are despised by the independent-minded students. The light-skinned African Americans, known as "Wannabes," hate the dark-skinned African Americans, called "Jigaboos." Vaughn "Dap" Dunlop, played by Fishburne, is a serious, if self-involved student whose main beef is with the insensitive, conservative college administration. And he's looking out for his cousin, Half-Pint (Spike Lee), who's dying to become a frat brother.
