Dad (Gene Hackman) is a civil liberties lawyer and daughter (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) is an attorney working in the service of corporate marauders. Their relationship is strained at best. But they are brought curiously closer when they find themselves on opposite sides of a case involving exploding station wagons and the people harmed by them. Fishburne plays Nick Holbrook, Dad's lieutenant in court and a peacemaker who helps bring dad and daughter together.
