[Teasing] Maybe the question you want to ask is, “When you're being extravagant, when you're living life to it's fullest, why do you think that appeals to you?” Would that be the question?

That would be the question.

OK. Let's see, I guess I do it because I can. It gives me pleasure, and believe it or not, within that extravagance I try never to waste. Wasting would be buying the car that is five times as much as the car I could get at the same price or spending 10 times the amount on a plane when the plane you could spend much less on will do the same job. So, yes, it's extravagant, but it's within the budget, and it's not wasteful.

I'm curious: Did you lose any of your confidence pre-'Pulp Fiction'?

No, I only lost opportunities [laughs]. Confidence has never been an issue with me.

There must be some situation in which your confidence takes a drop. Like, picking out a gift for your wife or something?

[Pause] I'm trying to find something that you'd like – I don't exactly know what your purpose is. [Chuckles] Unless it's to make me seem more real…

Well, some people might think you're pretty perfect – you don't brawl, you're not difficult on a movie set, you've never been robbed….

Well, everybody knows that nobody's perfect.
