THE SKY'S THE LIMIT Flying is a true passion of John's. As a child, he used to see his older sister Ellen off at the airport every time she went out of town for an acting job. That is when he first became enamored with the world of aviation. Taking it a step further, he had his female schoolmates use their Brownie uniforms to play flight attendants as he captained his imaginary backyard airline. He doesn't have to play make-believe anymore. Today, Travolta captains a small fleet of his own jets, which makes shooting on location and commuting home to spend time with his family enjoyable and easier. Travolta is married to actress Kelly Preston. The two first met in 1987 on the set of The Experts. Three years later, they met again when Travolta was shooting Look Who's Talking Too and Preston was shooting Run, both in Vancouver. After months of romancing, the two were off to Switzerland for a winter vacation with friends. It was New Year's Eve when John found himself on one knee proposing to Kelly. They were married in Paris the following year. The couple has one son, Jett, and just added a daughter, Ella Bleu, in April. Captain John: Travolta flies his own plane to location shoots.
