[Softly] I don't think that there's ever been anyone who's genuinely loved me more than Quentin. He doesn't want anything back other than my well-being, and every time I think about the purity of that, it makes me want to cry or something….And Steven Spielberg – he's the one who called me and told me to do the Nora Ephron movie. So with Quentin Tarantino and Steven Spielberg, I think I have the best guardian angels that the planet has to offer.
Nice angels
Yeah.
I mean, literally, these cherubs [pointing to two life-sized statues perched nearby] could stand for Tarantino and Spielberg.
[Grimaces good-naturedly] Well, I'll tell you, these are my wife's idea. I'm not big on these, OK? When I first met Kelly, her house was filled with angels and, uh….
Uh-oh, you're going to get into trouble.
No, no, I mean, um….I don't mind an occasional angel, but I like…[brightly] I like everything else in the room!
Do you get out to watch movies besides your own?
I go to the movies if I can. It's an area that I feel I need to improve in….I can do it, but I won't do it without getting addressed, one way or another. So what I prefer, if I can, is to ask the theater to have an extra screening for me after hours. In Florida, all the theaters allowed me to come in after 10 or midnight and see a show.
Uh, aren't you getting a little close to Elvis territory there?
