Travolta's cameo as the blood-and-guts, tonsil-rattling, storm-the-beaches Brigadier General Quintard exhorting his nervous troops before their infamous landing on the bloody beaches of Guadalcanal is a classic moment in famed director Terrence Malick's remake of James Jones' famous battle novel.
