Travolta stars as bottom-line-driven Boston personal-injury lawyer Jan Schlichtmann, who finds himself losing not only the case, but also money, friends and maybe even his practice when he grows obsessed with a lawsuit by a group of families whose children have died of leukemia, possibly as a result of polluted drinking water. Based on a true story, the movie follows Schlichtmann's determination to bring two of the region's most powerful and influential corporations to justice, no matter what -- including, ultimately, the growing pleas of his clients.
