Travolta plays Billy Nolan, the boyfriend of a snotty teen (Nancy Allen), who talks him into playing a dirty trick on Carrie at the prom. Unfortunately for all concerned, Carrie, a shy budding teenager with deadly telekinetic powers, tortured by a Bible-thumping mother, doesn't appreciate the joke.
