White factory worker Louis Pinnock, played by Travolta, toils in a society where blacks make up the wealthy social majority and whites are the lower class. After being mistakenly accused of voyeurism by his boss, Louis is subsequently fired and then beaten up by the police. He finally stands up to face his oppressive employer in court, but is soon frustrated by a biased justice system. In the end, he finds he must resort to violence in order to find redress in a myopic society.
