THE CAREER
Travolta starred as a straight-talking, boozing, womanizing angel in Michael
and a common man with supernatural abilities in Phenomenon and took an
equally diverse turn as an action star in John Woo's top box-office thriller
Broken Arrow. He also starred as an FBI agent turned villain in Face/Off
opposite Nicolas Cage and in She's So Lovely with Sean Penn and Robin
Wright Penn. Travolta portrayed a Museum Guard caught in the wrong place at
the wrong time in Mad City, co-starring Dustin Hoffman. He also starred as a
governor campaigning for President in director Mike Nichols' Primary Colors, co-starring Emma Thompson and Billy Bob Thornton. In 1999, Travolta
starred as an attorney tackling environmental issues in A Civil Action, based
on the bestselling book, for director Steve Zaillian. In June of the same
year, John starred as investigator Paul Brenner in The General's Daughter,
which grossed more than $100 million in North America alone and was one
of the top ten films to pass that level last summer.

Forget Charlie's: Travolta's tough-talking, womanzing, hard-drinking Michael was Hollywood's hottest angel in the '90s.
As a onetime "ambulance chaser," Travolta risks his friends, family and career to bring a corporate giant to justice in 1999's A Civil Action.
